Black Hawk during rescue training in the sea in Florianópolis

The Pantera Squadron (5th / 8th GAV), based in Santa Maria (RS) and operating the H-60 Black Hawk helicopters, was at the Florianopolis Air Base (BAFL) to train victims rescue at sea. The exercise, concluded on Friday (12), aims to improve the search and rescue methods of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), used in accidents at sea and land or in case of natural disasters, such as in the floods in Santa Catarina in the year of 2008. The squadron did simulations of rescue of people in the water through Kapoff lifting method, in which the rescue happens with speed, efficiency and security.
